Using a ToolBox Model to create a customised ArcPad Check Out (PART 2) continued...
Some of you may have noticed a flaw in the model that I showed for creating an automated check out in my post

It would probably be smarter if you copy the newly created data to your device, rather than the template ;)

Now, somebody did ask on that posting, for more info on the Destination string for this model. The destination string needs to be of the form "dev:\foldername". So, if I was to double click on CECopy in my model, I would see the following dialog box. the Source_FileSpec field is automatically populated with Target AXF (that comes from the model) and I simply added dev:\ to the Destination field to copy the file to the root directory on my mobile device.

Hi Marika,
I'm still having problems with getting this little CECopy script/tool to work. I'm only using the sample data and i'm sure i've followed your instructions to the letter, however it always breaks down when initiallising the CECoby vbs script??? Unfortunately it only says the error is on line 1. As you can imagine it is getting very frustrating. Any thoughts? Or perhaps you could load up your working version for us to try and replicate? Thanks for any help in advance. Cheers, John.

Hi all,
Has anyone got this to work yet? As I’m having the same problem as John, works up to the CECopy.exe, any ideas on what may be causing this problem?
Andrew.

I have posted my model (and updated instructions) to arcscripts - you can download it from
http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=15808
WARNING: you will still need to download CECopy.exe seperately from Microsoft to be able to run the model.

Hi Marika,
The Toolbox is empty, the associated files are there but no model.
Thought you should know

To Andrew
I just checked the download here on two different machines and all the files expected to be included are there. Please try again.

Hi Marika,
I am trying to use the 'CheckoutFeatures' method available in the interface 'IArcPadExport' from ArcPad Data Mananger component. The method is working fine in ArcMap but not in ArcCatalog. What could be the problem?
Thanks.
Madhan
